A simple question.
After being stuck on Oz for the last two years I came in on a 30 day on arrival intending to extend for 30 more.
My first 30 day stamp ends on a Sunday.
Can I go to Immigration on the Monday to extend without being on over stay or must I go on the previous Friday?
If I go Friday will the stamp extend from the Sunday date which will expire the day I fly out or from the Friday which will put on overstay?
Thanks in advance, love your work.
TLDR : Answer Summary
If your 30-day visa stamp expires on a Sunday, you can go to the immigration office on Monday to extend your stay without being considered as overstaying, as it is the first working day after the closure. However, it is advisable to visit on Friday to avoid potential crowds on Monday. If you choose to go on Friday, your extension will be added to your current stay, meaning you won't lose any days of your current visa.
