To get a Retirement visa in Thailand you need to have the money in a Thai bank account. It is not possible to open a Thai bank account on a 60 day visa free entry or on a tourist visa, only on a long ter, visa. Best get a Retirement visa in your home country, then you can open a bank account once you are in Thailand.

Your Retirement Visa rann out on its date of expiry. If you have been here for 18 months, then I assume that you are currently on an extension of stay based on being over 50 and not a Retirement Visa.

Be aware that in Thailand you cannot get a bamk mortgage if over 50 years of age.

As a last resort you can enter on a 60 day Visa Exempt stamp if you do not have ahistory of staying in Thailand. When your 90 day visa comes through you will need to leave the country (day trip to cross the border) and then re-enter on your 90 day visa.

What is your passport? How long do you need to stay in Thailand?

The only document that you need to buy sa car is Thai Baht. To register it in your name you will need a Cetificate of Residence from Immigration (or a yellow housebook if you have it and your passport. The seller (if Thai needs the vehicel registration document and his Thai ID. If the seller is not a Thai person, he will need the vehicle registration document, his passport and, I think, a Certificate of Residence.

You are not extending a visa. You are applying for an extension of stay.
