Hi all!
What happens when you leave the company you worked for remotely while applying for DTV? moving to a new remote job or starting a freelance career?
Thanks!
Hi All,
New in the group here, hope some one can help. I am UK based and in the process of opening my limited company and hoping to move to Thailand in September with a DTV. It will be me and my spouse (civil partners) who for the moment won't be working. Questions:
1)do we need to show a total of 1M baht or only 500,000 baht will do it?
2)would it be wiser to include my spouse name in my limited company (as if we were working on the same on line business)?
3)roughly how long is the process doing it from the UK?
4)if my partner applies via a course/arts/muay thai etc. how does this work, as obviously the course won't be five years
5)my business will be e-commerce. As a proof shall I just show a bunch of on line stores URLs?
Thanks in advance
Does anyone know if the embassy in Hanoi works on applications over the weekend ? Thinking of flying on a Saturday and submitting that night or Sunday am.
My husband & I just got our DTVs approved in Hanoi. I wanted to highlight something for people who got married in the EU & received a "Formule B" international marriage certificate. Make sure it's visible that the document is already in English!
The writing is small so it seems it can be easily overlooked. They initially sent us a document request for translation to English & notarization. However, I figured that must have been a mistake. So I wrote a short cover letter explaining that it's already in English, highlighted all the English text on the document & uploaded that. A day later, my husband's application was switched to "pending approval" & 5 days later it was approved.
Just a tip so no one panics & tries to get a document translated & notarized that's already in English 🥲
What is your favorite border run agency from BKK to Cambodia?

Hey guys anyone here recently applied for softpower DTV via HCM. I made application on Sunday just past and Tuesday morning got a response for extra documents "proof of income" which I submitted same day. I had a flexible flight booked for this weekend and have now extended until Wednesday so that would be 8 working days total I'm allowing the process to be complete. Is this withing the timeframe most are being processed?
How long is processing time for single entry tourist visa application at Vientiane/Savannakhet consulates (and where is the shortest for that matter Laos or otherwise)? Does it really take 10 ~ 15 days?
Does one have to be the resident or national of the country at where you're filing the application from to be eligible for SETV (METV only?).
Also, at what point do you have to pay up the application fee? The applicant is in CM now where he will file online SE tourist visa application from. It is assumed it takes at least two days to travel from CM to Vientiane via Thai-Lao friendship bridge. Does that give the applicant enough time window to go make application fee payment at the embassy/consulate when he is called to pay up?
Hi everyone! My wife’s retirement visa is due for renewal in May but just realist she didn’t maintain her 800k in the first 3 months. She topped it up to 800k in the past 4 months. If she go renew herself, would it be a problem or we need to pay a fine or tea money (what is a good amount). Is it a serious offense as it would be considered overstay? Also would like to consider canceling it and attach it to my visa to make it easier to renew together as a couple. Would appreciate if anyone can suggest any ideas.
Skype will terminate the service in May 2025. Any alternate service to call landlines ( in Germany ) from TH at low cost?
To people that are border bouncing towards the end of your 180 days:
Do not fall into the trap of forgetting about your second 90 day report.
This is due 90 days after your first 90 day report which you likely completed before 90 days had passed, hence your second 90 day report will be due before your 180 day visa stamp expires.
If you are leaving the country within 90 days of your first 90 day report then you will be absolutely fine 👍
