What is the process for re-entry into Thailand on a DTV visa?

Just a quick update for Re-Entry on DTV:

Spent 179 days of my first DTV entry my history of entry is : in 2024 I only spent maybe 10 days out of Thailand and I’m here since May 2023 on TR ED TR ED again

So I would be the best person to be questioned by the immigration despite having the visa ( all the fear mongering post I see here)after all on my first exit on ED visa I got a interview in Thai so why not again

So what did I do?

Left from DMK to Kuala Lumpur, arrive at midnight and take the first flight back. So my Thai exit is 19 entry in Malaysia 20 exit 20 and entry Thailand 20

No question asked, stamp stamp check all good

Round two in October, just be nice smile and do what they ask it’s not rocket science

People pay all this money just to still fear being questioned by immigration.

Anonymous participant 925 that’s why I give my experience and history so they stop worrying

Me I don’t really care if I get questioned, as I said I have all my documents with me or at least copy of them and can talk for hours if needed

Thank you for your helpful report.

You are well prepared for questions if asked by Thai Immigration Officers.

That's a good thing to do.

Enjoy your coming 180 days in Thailand on the DTV visa.. 👍

thanks ! Just wanted to reassure everyone I see so much scary post I want to nuance that, if someone with so much time in Thailand can enter after less than 13 hours out I think there’s no risk of denied entry, maybe some questions but if we do our DTV by the books no worries

So why that method rather than going on a mini holiday? Weekend away or something?

well it might sound stupid but

I just didn’t want to spend money on « that » and had no interest to visit Malaysia again alone, already saw what I wanted and I was very lazy to Change baht for RM just for a day

Just wanted to do the run quick and keep money for other projects, if I want holiday I’ll take 2 week minimum to fully enjoy my destination

Anonymer Teilnehmer why didnt you just extend inside thailand if you had the documents ready anyway? more cheap and less time consuming if you have everything ready

the last few weeks I have been very very busy and didn’t have a day during the week to go there, in other words I forgot completely to go there and had no other options

I had some promo code to use so this cost me around 3000

Maybe I’ll do it for the next one because I’ll have stronger document for some point

Yes, right. You’ll unfortunately find both extremes here: those who claim every entry is questioned, and those who insist you’ll never be questioned at all if you hold a visa. Your long-term experience confirms that the truth is usually somewhere in between.

Anonymous participant 337 I try to reduce the risk as much as possible but I understand most people are not over prepared like me, look clean, dressed good, have all my documents ready, have copy of all my documents used for DTV, I still have the paper they give you when you paid the DTV (when it was in person)

If they question me, it would be very easy for me to give them all the proof of my work, payments, 500k updated live, where I live, proof of 90day report, 20.000 in cash, no exit ticket but a clear plan of next destination, project I work on, presentation of my work, business, websites

Everything is printed, in marked A4 envelopes each in a plastic sleeve and all in a bigger plastic sleeve ready to be given

Anonymous participant I think that as soon as you're able to fulfill (or prove) the initial requirements, you'll have zero issue for 5 years.

you got an interview when going out of Thailand? I have never heard of that.
