Hello all, please helpšŸ™ Applied from Vietnam. Hanpi Embassy. UK passport, self-employed, UK business owner. visa cancelled: wrong personal info. Is it because of the middle name? Applied and inserted the middle name everywhere, however, the Companies House, Tax Return, Bank Statements have only initials, not full name like in the passport. I wonder if this is the problem?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK passport holder and business owner applying from Vietnam, experienced a visa cancellation due to discrepancies in personal information, particularly regarding their middle name. They are unsure if the absence of their middle name on documents like Companies House, Tax Returns, and Bank Statements caused the issue. Other users advise that when reapplying, it's essential to include the full name as it appears on the passport in all documents and suggest reaching out to the embassy for clarification.

If your application is rejected or cancelled, you can apply and pay again. Everything must be your full name as it appears on your passport … include your bank statements and etc.

Anonymous participant 232 the bank statements have first name initials. The Companies House documents do not have middle name in them. Is it a problem?
Anonymous ******************
Anonymous participant just write a cover letter explaining that the bank statements have your initial and your house docs don’t have your initial. That’s not the reason for cancellation.
Anonymous ******************
Anonymous participant what did you enter under ā€˜Place of issue’ on the online application under passport details. Incorrect details under this section is a common reason why people have their application cancelled

Anonymous participant 888 I entered United Kingdom, because it was issued in the UK last year

Anonymous participant that’s sounds correct to me. Before you reapply, I’d recommend you contact the embassy directly. You forward them screen shots of the application, and ask if the information you have entered is correct, or not.

I want reapply again today. As I am in Danang, this time I want to use Ho Chi Min embassy. Anyone had experience reapplying?

Yes, I am in Danang, but applied via Hanoi, I showed hotel booking invoice, which I took from the lobby of the hotel where I am staying. Do I better apply via Ho Min Chin if I am in Danang?

I went to the lobby of my hotel in Danang and asked them to give me an invoice and sent it to Hanoi emabassy

Anonymous participant - You can’t apply via Hanoi if you are in DaNang. The embassy has a list of which provinces are allowed to use which embassy. DaNang is assigned to HCMC. This could be the problem.

@John ******
good question because if he’s in Denang and applied via the Hanoi embassy it could have gotten him rejected

Anonymous participant if your visa got cancelled due wrong information then you can apply without worries at the same embassy. Make sure to mail them first and ask them to explain what was wrong with your application so that you don't give them with another 300$

@Kyle *********
Or even better, go directly to the embassy before submitting the application. Show them the information you’ve entered and ask if everything is correct.
Kyle **********
Anonymous participant 888 I don't know about vietnam but a lot of embassies will just reply you to mail them instead of going there in person.

They stated it was because of wrong personal info? If your middle name is on your passport, you should include it, regardless if it is/isn’t on other documents. What did you state as place of passport issued?

@John ******
I included middle name everywhere, but the Companies House docs do not have the middle name. For the passport stated issues as UNITED KINGDOM, because it was issued inside in the UK last year, but may be I should state HMPO?
John *******
Anonymous participant - it sounds like you did it correctly. Any hyphens or other symbols in your name? Did you enter your info or leave it to the application to pull from your bio page upload? The site is known to incorrectly pull info from your bio page, so needs to be rewritten after it is uploaded. For example, the letter o might be replaced with a zero, etc.

@John ******
another very common issue is entering the wrong information under ā€˜place of issue’ in the passport details section.
John *******
Anonymous participant 888 - Yes, but he stated he listed United Kingdom, so that should be fine.

@John ******
yes, sorry I didn’t see that. Yes, UNITED KINGDOM is definitely the correct thing to enter.
