What is a culinary Visa ? Do you mean DTV Softpower with Thai cooking course ?

I used PDF24 creator, which is free. There are also other PDF related tools included. For example if the combined big PDF file is too big to upload then you can compress it. That was necessary in my case

If I don't want to pay for the certificate of residence in Chiang Mai, do you know how long I have to wait for it ?

If they are still small, it might make sense to send them to a normal public school for one or two years, after which they will be able to speak Thai perfectly, which is not the case with children at international schools.

It's possible in Chiang Mai. At least the extension is possible. I checked that before applying for the DTV visa. But to apply for a driving licence or for an extension you need a certificate of residence and for that you need to have a valid tm30 slip in your passport

But after two years it will automatically be extended to five, right?

He probably booked a round-trip and just took his flight back. That's why I love Laos, because you don't have to book flights and you're not dependent on any changing flight prices. You just take the bus and it always costs the same.

International school shouldn't be a problem. However, the public school system is most likely closed to you since you are not a tax resident.

That's absolutely right, I just wanted to mention it, because the interviews aren't scheduled for a week. Instead, you receive the invitation via email in the afternoon, and you have to be at the consulate the next morning or at noon. The appointment times are intentionally so tight to weed out people who are already out of the country. I therefore recommend checking your emails regularly and planning a possible trip to Jakarta. Here's a link to a report from a group member who had an interview in Jakarta:

Somewhere here in the Facebook group I read a case where someone was invited to an interview in Jakarta. In the worst case scenario, you would have to travel from Bali to Jakarta, so you have to take that into account.
