 they set up an extended visa exempt for 60 days. This was done for the main reason of increasing tourism- many countries have 90 days. Someone coming frequently and staying here within the boundaries and returning home is fine. No visa is required

 I know 3 people that do this from Singapore. They want a close by escape. Now that I know 3 is significant because there are for sure others.

one thing they could do is make long term visas easier to get. I know people who are married finding it difficult with all the paperwork to get a visa based on marriage. So they they just use visa exempt.

 agree. There are a lot of my friends who live in Singapore that come a week a month and are never questioned. That’s 12 entries a year

there are people from nearby countries that come here 8-10 times a year just for 5 days at at a time. There is no visa that is appropriate for that. They are genuine tourists and don’t live here. They are not abusing anything.
