@Nikki ********
Thank you Nikki. Unfortunately, Koh Phangan doesn't have a blood bank. Samui does... but we cannot transfer the blood from Samui to Bangkok.

Since you are Rh-Negative- and we always need donors - is it possible for you to donate in Bangkok? Or even in Samui, to have a unit banked.

@Arthur *******
The National Blood Centre is accepting donors from the UK, France and Ireland

Age limit is 60 for first-time donor, 70 for previous donor in Thailand.

Thank you for trying. Yes, I heard that this man recently received a unit.

We are keeping the case open

1. He may need more

2. To replenish the reserves he may have used. The Thai Red Cross keeps a very minimal supply on hand.

I can only donate 4 times per year, assuming that I am in Thailand the entire year

I'm an Expat Volunteer for Rh-Negative awareness and donations.

It's my advocacy that brings in more donors than what I personally can.

Please encourage any eligible Westerner you may know to donate

Bangkok is accepting previously deferred donors from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, France 🇫🇷 and Ireland 🇮🇪.

Yes, we need you as a Donor.

1 in 1000 Thai people are O Negative. Very difficult to find.

I'm an Expat Volunteer.

You can donate at your nearest Red Cross. Not all hospitals have blood banks. There is one in Phuket and Krabi. I'm not sure exactly where you are.

Yes. It is encouraged. Particularly because Rh-Negative is an Extremely Rare Blood Type in Thailand, 0.3%

And relatively common in the Western population. About 20%.

You can register at the Thai Red Cross 🩸

You can also donate blood, if you meet the criteria.

Under 60 if first-time donor in Thailand

Donors from the UK, France and Ireland who lived in the vCJD "mad cow disease" period in the region from 1980-1996 are Welcomed Back at the National Blood Centre in Bangkok on Henri Dunant Rd ONLY. Special processing for the blood

Yes, we always need donors. Thank you 🙏 😊 💓

I was told that it is urgent. It is reasonable to assume that there is Zero available blood for him. The Thai population simply doesn't have Rh-Negative

We have a new patient. He is at Banglamung Hospital in Pattaya.

Thank you David. The age restriction is to protect the donor's health. As we age our ability to replenish red blood cells reduces.

Thailand has set 60 as first-time donor, 70 if previously donated in Thailand. They want the data on the previous donations. They don't want someone donating at 70 for the first-time, as an example.
