fair enough, I thought agents sometimes did them with people by putting borrowed money in an account and then taking it back after the application has gone through. It sometimes hard to tell what’s actually allowed loopholes and what’s just outright abuse of the system because both happen so often.

What if you did their retirement visas one at a time and just moved their money from one to the other?

If they’re there for education (MuayThai) then get an education visa!

If you’re both teaching via remote work then you’ll need to both apply for your own DTV. The money required doesn’t have to stay in your account for the duration of your visa though so if it’s hard for you to get twice the funds, just apply for one first and once you have it, transfer the funds to the other person and apply for theirs.

do the ED visa first and then you have a good grounding in the language and a whole year to sort yourself out ready to get the DTV.
