FarangJaiDee123 sadly true, he’d probably be happier with that outcome.

It’s a bit like needing to speak the language before going over to study the language!

Steve Fortefyve There’s whole communities of families that travel the world while their children are young. It’s a wonderfully rich experience for them.

Have a look at some of the world schooling groups, they can be a great resource too. The DTV visa would be the most suitable for your situation.

what do you even want them to do? They don’t care about your race, if you were Indian they’d speak in English to you too because they don’t know all the languages. They’re not choosing English because you look white, they’re choosing English because you look not Thai! So that’s the best they’ve got to offer you, there are no other choices without specifically getting a translator or other foreign member of staff.

The rules have always been clear, they’ve just started enforcing them properly.

You wouldn’t expect France to let you get away with multiple visa runs bouncing in and out of the country, why should Thailand?

Go try it in Japan! Or China! 😂😂😂😂😂

Stressed_daughter_123 oh yeah I can totally understand that and would put a hard boundary on the whole living with you to ‘save’ for his travels thing. That would be a resounding nope from me. He needs to pull this off on his own merit if he wants to make it happen. A bit of help to figure his visa out if fine but the rest should be up to him.

Stressed_daughter_123 He can’t do the visa runs thing any more, if he wants to be there for any long term period he will need a long term visa. It probably can be done though. So long as he already knows somewhere he can stay cheaply enough to make it work.

A lot of less wealthy elderly people do it without health insurance u fortunately. It might not be wise but again, they’d rather be there and accept it might come to an end at some point than be here and miserable for a few years longer so I can get it. It’s far from ideal but I get it.
