Yeah around US$1,000 to US$2,000. But its not too complicated to obtain a credit card in the US.

I was allowed to rent a car with my Temporary 2 Years TH Driving License with Hertz Newark Airport and Chicago Airport. Only need DL and Credit Card. If you don't have a credit card, they might run a credit check on you.

Its actually only 2 or 3 documents are compulsory. The others are optional. Bank Statement, Proof of Employment, Passport Soft Copy.

Not Aus Embassy in Bangkok. Most likely to be provide the biometric fingerprint in Trendy Plaza. Cost 1,xxx ++ THB. It is easier to submit yourselves as you need to provide the supporting documents to agent anyway. Cost A$160.
