2 years ago, left my job and went to travel then ended up living between there and Australia. My girlfriend is from Bkk but she baught a condo just outside as its cheaper and her work is there.
At the moment I'm back in the UK working, we're just tryna figure out what to do I think she will be coming here we will both work for a while then return. I'm back over in 6 weeks but just a holiday to see her, then she'll come here on tourist visa first after Christmas then eventually for a few years so we can both rack up abit of money.
I'd been previously a place called Chiang Kham a few hours from Chiang Rai, an old friend lived there for 7 years, was married to a thai teacher who's family owned a school and had to kids together. They're divorced now though and he's been back sometime. He did say a few things though like when he played for a football team after a match all the lads would order beers and expect him to pay, also he had to pay his ex wifes mother like £3000 to marry her 😬 this is like 12 years ago. In general though he was skint and her family looked after him
Maybe depends what part you live and if the western man is being used for only 1 thing. I mean my girlfriend works in an office 6 days per week earns her own money, he sister works in health department, sisters boyfriend IT tech.. all of them work and don't expect me to pay for everything, If it's a small village say in ISAN maybe completely different, or bar girls in Pattaya. Bangkok has a population of over 11 million 🤷♂️
I mean I find thai culture pretty easy to adapt to but being used as an ATM is not thai culture, I see plenty of Women working harder than the men.
I mean older fellas that go for bar girls whey out their league always say this, yet they tend to deserve to be scammed anyway 🤷♂️ Massive pollution though I'll say the thais I know who work hard are not like this easy to stereotype but western women are probabally worse in my opinion
