, you're more likely to have difficulty boarding the aircraft from your country of origin as if you're denied the 30 day visa exempt stamp, the airline has to foot the bill to take you back home. Any & all immigration officers have the right to ask you to show you have 20,000 thb or equivalent in foreign currency, proof of accommodation and onward journey. It just depends on which immigration officer you get on the day. Better to be safe than sorry.
