Off to Suvannakhet tomorrow to apply for the 1 year Multiple Entry non immi O visa based on marriage & read on another forum (I'm only a voyeur there, not a member 555) a guy did it recently & although I have all documents he discussed in his article he mentioned he provided "1 x copy original Kor Ror 2, both sides, signed by wife and myself", which I've never heard of. Anybody out there who can shed some light on this? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for applying for a 1-year Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant O visa based on marriage in Thailand. The 'Kor Ror 2' is mentioned as a necessary document, which is a marriage certificate variant received in Thailand. The conversation clarifies that for married couples in Thailand, there are two documents obtained, the Kor Ror 2 and Kor Ror 3, with the former being a certified marriage certificate. Participants provide guidance on the purpose of these documents and the certification process.

When you get married in thailand you get TWO marriage documents a Kor Ror 2 & a Kor Ror 3. One is the suitable for framing one with a rose border around it, the other one is all written in thai and looks like a form. They BOTH have stuff stamped on the back which is why you copy both sides.

Here's what those two look like;

@T**
, when she legally married her Thai husband 14 years ago she was only given the document suitable for framing. She's doing my head in today, I'm having a beer lol.

Brad, Here's the thai; ค.ร. ๒ & ค.ร. ๓ ;)

It's really a K R 2 & K R 3 ..

it's written on the back of the forms too :)

Just found out from another friend that it's a transcript of the marriage certificate (because he married in Australia) and didn't register the marriage with the local Amphur. I married in Thailand, so no worries.

@An***
, too true, I'm even thinking of asking for a document to verify the colour of underwear I'll have on when I apply tomorrow 555 ;)

Yup that's right but it's best best to have one to save all the trouble during application. For me, I always go the extra mile so the process will be smooth most of the times. You know them... mood. 😎

Andre Only some immigration offices make you get a new one.

In theory that certificate doesn't expire.

They just want you to go get a new one to prove you didn't get divorced and are still married ;)

Then it shouldn't be problem but remember to have one new copy when you are doing your extension of stay if to when the time comes. Certificate validity 6 months before applying.

@An***
, my marriage certificate was printed today, so I assume I won't need a Kor Ror 2 that it is still valid since being printed, correct?

@Tod ********
is spot on there for KR 22.

Cheers Tod, got the same info from another mate. Thanks fella.

This Kor Ror 2 is to certify that your marriage is still valid when printed out at the district office.

If you're married in another country and then register the marriage in thailand you get a Kor Ror 22.

You need to go to your nearest district office to get one copy certified by the officer there. It will cost you THB 20.
