Anonymous participant for the sake of £300 or so, definitely safer to get the DTV - id argue you are the perfect case for a DTV, multiple entries per year spending more time than advised on visa exemption.
I applied soft power and was asked 0 questions on employment, just had to show my 500k baht in savings and my Muay Thai (pre-paid) course 👍
it does technically say to print out the visa but you’d be unlucky if they caused issues over it being in your phone only. I just prefer to be safe when it comes to immigration
I’d assume you are going to be getting a different type of visa now? Otherwise surely no point in cancelling. If so, if you’re using an agent for the new visa just tell them you need to cancel the DTV. Never done it on DTV but did similar with an Ed visa and I paid ฿2000 to cancel it. Doubt it’ll be an issue for you
No, the main requirement is the 500k savings particularly when going down the soft power route.
And it’s the opposite of the Ed visa, in that each stamp only gives you 6 months in Thailand but you can get as many back to back stamps as you need within the 5 years your visa is valid
Keep your answer as simple as possible. But yes, you have savings to fund yourself after 6 months + you receive income from work completed in your home country 👍
Extensions are notoriously strict, for some reason. Just leave and re enter via air to bkk is your safest bet id say. Most ppl enter with zero questions asked 👍
With soft power you don’t need employment. You have the savings, and with proof of your cooking classes + a fresh passport it sounds like you have a very strong chance of approval 👍
Hope Thailand gives you what you need mate. The Sabai Sabai “medicine” can cure a lot 🙏❤️🇹🇭
I showed 1 months worth of statements with a starting and closing balance above 500k and i was accepted in UK, but this was a year ago now so things may have got stricter
