TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around options for border crossing after a 12-month visa extension in Thailand, particularly for expats with pets. Participants share their experiences and preferences for border runs, recommending flying out to countries such as Singapore or Vietnam rather than crossing into Cambodia due to recent closures. Some advise against immediate returns to avoid issues and suggest staying a couple of days. There are discussions on traveling with pets, including tips for making arrangements for cats left at home during border runs.
For me easiest is chong mek because i live in ubon 1 hour and 25 minutes go and again for coming back went into laos waited duty free 20 minutes came inside thai no questions got DTV stamp was my first out and in too
I've gone to singapore for the day. No issues. I chose singapore because changi airport is so beautiful and efficient. If you go vietnam, avoid hcmc. That airport is the worst
Anonymous participant 416 avoid all Vietnam airports if possible. SGN and HAN are way below standard for cities of their size. They’re an embarrassment. Da Nang is a slight step above, but that’s not saying much.
I came from 3 days laos last week. I have the e visa so no visa in my passport. I suppose the officer hasn't seen that before but after he made a call it was fine.
Border bounce for DTV is every 180 days = 6 months or just before. I fly out and back stay 2 or 3 nights small holiday . Go where you want but you can take your cat if you drive your car and cross. It's what is closer or more convenient for you. Maybe others have done crossing in one day
I think they are confusing all land borders with recent Cambodia land closures. Someone posted recently of entering Laos and returning same day no probs.
