this is the most nonsensical comment. Nobody has seen such “internal memos” but you who probably aren’t even living here like most of the people in this group. Additionally, the proof of funds is 500k not 400k and could have easily been earned 6 years ago. The Department of Revenue has already discussed prior savings exempt from tax. Finally, Thailand has a progressive rate tax system and 500k is taxed at 10%.
The people complaining must love standing in the long immigration lines. They want Thailand to live in the past. To not develop. They want to treat the country like their own personal playground.
you’re a tax resident at 180 regardless of your visa. No different than Thais here 180. Currently at 180, DTV holders would have to pay tax on all money repatriated. It also seems like you’re advocating for not paying tax because you think no information will be exchanged.
that’s not correct at all. Plenty of people in the US are under an employment contract and Montana isn’t an at will employment state. Leave the legal talk to the lawyers please.
I live in Thailand full time. I never have to leave. And, I still visit other countries. I am in Qatar right now and was in Italy right before. Just because I don’t have to leave doesn’t mean I don’t. But, I’m not forced to leave.
