 Not unusual to get a DTV in 2 days, Taiwan issued DTVS within 8 hours with their in person application, now can get it within 2 days online. London has a record of 2 day approvals. Recently someone in Brazil approved within a day.

 No bank hols this week but there are increasing numbers of applications to process so could take the standard 10 -15 business days.

 Doubt they are intentionally lying but there is substantial evidence to show applying after a rejection does not mean a low chance of approval. Some Embassies even tell failed applicants to apply again.
