Could use some advice. I applied to us LA embassy as a freelancer, so I do not have a registered business. I attached a pdf with a cover letter to indicate I am a freelancer. But received the following back:
* Other request documents: Please upload a business registration of the company
* Other request documents: Please describe a business portfolio of the company
* Other request documents: Your recent tax return
* Other request documents: Employment contract or employment certificate from company
* Other request documents: Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely
Majority of my work is with another company that is registered and I have a freelance contract with them. I could also have them easily write me a letter indicating I can work remotely. Would that be the best option moving forward? I am mostly confused about the document "Please describe a business portfolio of the company" as I thought the PDF below would suffice.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A freelancer seeking a US visa faced document requests from the LA embassy, including business registration, a business portfolio, recent tax returns, employment contract, and a guarantee letter. As a freelancer without a registered business, they are unsure how to best fulfill these requests. Suggestions include obtaining a letter from the company they work with, providing their contract, and clarifying the requirements for the business portfolio, which may pertain to their client’s registration information.
