Im currently applying from Vietnam the DTV. I can only upload one document for each section. What would you recommend as a freelancer to upload: CV, portfolio, contract with customer or references? Or should i make one PDF in put all my contracts, bills, documents together in one PDF and upload? Please help me :D ☺🤓🙆
I just received an email for requested documents for my DTV application, but I don't know what to submit. Even tho I submitted most of supported documents in the original application.
Here is the list of requested documents:
1. A copy of the company's registration/business license along with GST registration
I do not have a registered business. I work as a freelancer with independant monthly contracts. What documents should I submit here? Can I submit my client's LLC? What else should I submit to support my case?
2. Flight details and Hotel accommodation
I had submitted the flight number (no tickets) & agoda hotel bookings. Do I need to book a flight now and submit the ticket itself?
My hotel bookings were booked on 'pay later/free cancellation' option. And they have expired, do i need to rebook or should i just submit the pdf that was submitted in the original application?
3. A foreign employment contract or employment certificate
I do not have a employee certificate, although I do have a few client's contracts. I was also advised to add a letter head and stamp of your name at the top of the contract. What do you suggest?
4. Copies of all pages of the passport
I can submit these.
PS. I am applying at the Mumbai's thai consular in India. From other's experience, they tend to look for strong proof of regular employment and if one can sustain themselves in thailand.
I am very grateful for this group and the people in this community helping each other out . Thank you so much to everybody! All respectful opinions are appreciated!
Could use some advice. I applied to us LA embassy as a freelancer, so I do not have a registered business. I attached a pdf with a cover letter to indicate I am a freelancer. But received the following back:
* Other request documents: Please upload a business registration of the company
* Other request documents: Please describe a business portfolio of the company
* Other request documents: Your recent tax return
* Other request documents: Employment contract or employment certificate from company
* Other request documents: Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely
Majority of my work is with another company that is registered and I have a freelance contract with them. I could also have them easily write me a letter indicating I can work remotely. Would that be the best option moving forward? I am mostly confused about the document "Please describe a business portfolio of the company" as I thought the PDF below would suffice.
They asked me for a company profile and business portfolio, so if you’re applying as a freelancer, definitely have those ready ahead of time to avoid back and forth.
Happy to answer any questions or share what I included in my uploads if y’all need help 🫶🏾
I would like to ask those who have been approved of DTV as a freelancer. What do you need to show as a freelancer if you don't have employment contracts with companies and clients? Thank you for your help.
Regarding "remote worker" category and payslips for application via Hanoi in February 2025:
Are payslips necessary to submit or best way forward? Explain situation in a cover letter?
Background: I am employed since March 2024, but for technical reasons, the company I am working for was only able to hire me as a full-time service worker in 2024. This means, in 2024, my company required me to write them invoices and they paid me my monthly salary based upon these invoices. Therefore, I do not have any payslips for 2024, but my bank statement shows the monthly salary transfer.
I am receiving my first salary with a payslip this month in January 2025.
How to deal with this situation when applying? Any suggestions welcome!
- Bank statement (1 month) showing required balance
- Picture
- Residence certificate since my national id card is expired
- Tax registration as freelancer
Before submitting i properly cancelled my ED visa and flew back to Germany and applied immediately after my return. 4 days later, consulate requested an employment contract or certificate as additional documents. However, I replied i‘m a freelancer, resubmitted tax registration and 2 purchase orders from my customers (3 month contracts). Another 4 days later i got approved without any further questions.
Thanks for all the information provided on this page and good luck everyone 👍
UPDATE: I thought I’d try my luck collecting today, one day early. I turned up at 2.30pm to avoid any queues and they kindly allowed me in and my passport complete with DTV sticker was handed to me. Yayy!! 🙏🎉😄
Super quick and smooth successful DTV Soft Power Medical application submission at Royal Thai Embassy Jakarta.
They asked additional last month's bank statement, was my ''savings'' account, so I had just a few transfers there. Sent and was good.
-For proof of location sent a telephone company bill
- Proof of digital nomad status/portfolio
At first sent a picture of my webpage where I had collection of my works, but that didn't do. Then sent my business register info. That wasn't enough as well. Wrote to them and asked what was needed, I was told I needed a letter from company head stating i was doing remote work as a freelancer and job description in a few words. Wrote the letter to myself as the head of my company, just a few sentences that I work remotely as a freelancer and what I do. Sent, accepted.
