I received an email from the Jakarta Thai Embassy that due to unforeseen technical issues the launch of the Evisa system has been delayed. They cannot confirm when the launch date will take place at the moment and to check updates from their facebook page/website.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Jakarta Thai Embassy has announced a delay in the launch of its eVisa system due to technical issues, with no confirmed date for when it will be operational. This has raised concerns among applicants about the future process of applying for a Digital Tourist Visa (DTV) remotely, as it may require in-person visits to embassies and carry significant risks such as loss of application fees if rejected. Community members suggest that those nearby should apply in person now to avoid potential complications once the eVisa system is implemented.
Great news for people people in the area wanting to get a DTV from them (y)
Believe me that eVisa system is gonna run most people off the rails.
You'll have to GO to the country of the consulate you're applying for the DTV at, you will upload all your documents, proof you're IN that country (visa/entry stamp, hotel booking) PAY then wait until the eVisa is processed and approved before you can print it out and come back
AND
If you're rejected you lose the application fee.
Some consulates are already saying they're going to have 2-4 week processing once they switch over
I suggest ANYONE in the immediate vicinity to GO now and get your DTV at a consulate with an in person visit. Don't be a day counter and think "Oh I have xxx days on my current stamp I don't want to lose them" because you might screw yourself out of an easy DTV
All major IT projects in the UK seem to have major issues too. Bent Flyvbjerg at Oxford Uni has a megaprojects database which covers all of these project failures. The record of successful project delivery is abysmal. I was a Global Portfolio Director at a global company. Seen it and been part of it :-)
