Do you know the hours for doing this? Is it exactly the same as Vientiane? up till 11.30AM for drop off and pick up after 1,30PM next day?

Do I need a return ticket when applying for a 60-day visa in Vientiane?

it is very rarely enforced to show a return ticket at the border but just bear in mind they can request one at their pleasure anytime. If it were me, i'd not bother and if they ask you, just jump to the back of the queue and buy one on your phone ready to show. (chances are if its a different officer he wont even ask you that time)

How much time does it take to pick up a visa in Vientiane to catch a 6 pm flight from Udon Thani?

Just done it, I was 316 in the que, got a taxi from embassy straight to udon airport. Had about an hour to spare.
