the Honda dealership didnt ask me for one but obviously to ride the Bike legally here in Thailand and IDP is required...

But I've read or heard you can apply online and get a digital one nowadays..

I brought two from the UK...

depending on his Tax arrangements & set up as some countries already have agreements in place where you can't get double taxed and Mr Long may not pass the 180 days within the kingdom so not passing threshold or the Thai government may not ask him to provide a Tax statement at all...
