My condo notified everyone in the building that electricity will be 7 baht a unit now because electricity prices went up. Just got the notification yesterday. True or not, seems could be the case.

You could do the legwork of finding a repair service, getting an estimate to install/fix the heater, then offer to split the price with landlord? I mean if you want it done sooner rather than later.

whether true or not, a lawyer once told me that the landlord can keep the deposit but if he wanted to sue to enforce the contract it could take a long time and the property has to remain not-leased and empty the whole time.

Just to say, and I don’t know, but before sending check on what the wire description reason memo states, one legal firm in BKK was telling me it should be described a certain way - like for retirement or something- that might have been specific to the immigration they were going to use, but just saying…

So much for being a freewheeling tourist, go where the wind takes you LOL - a little surprised there is not a “7. Be fitted for ankle location tracking device at fee 5,000 baht”

One time transiting via Frankfurt to Prague I got stamped but it was super light with barely any ink, in Europe they (a generalization from experience) just stamp anywhere, took me a long time under bright light looking on every page but I found it and then another 10 minutes at border control when I left to show them and explain Etc. Though in Thailand they usually ink up that stamp pretty good lol!

It used to be easy at the US citizen services in bkk, if you have the letter and application no problem, but I’m not sure if they do in person appts again yet for passports and in order to get the 2nd you need to submit your primary (that’s what the 10 year is called) and they return it - but now it’s all seemingly by mail etc, tricky proposition if you are here in Thailand to send off your passport/ visa and just hope it gets back before you need it. I’ve had 4-5 of the 2nd passports (they used to be 2 years only, now 4 years, so have to keep renewing) and they are handy as you say, but until you can just show it at the citizen services and get it back before leaving I’m gonna wait. Keep us posted.
