I thought I saw a post about this before, but I am in Phuket and considering Elite Visa just because they win - what type of approval time have you experienced? Gonna get started but I think (tbc their lawyer response) they cancel any visa you hold in order to approve, and I have a few things to do that require I maintain my wp/non imm B as long as I can...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the approval time for the Thailand Elite Visa, with experiences ranging from 4 to 6 weeks for processing. It is noted that any existing visas must be canceled when applying for the Elite Visa, which raises concerns for individuals needing to maintain their Non-Immigrant B visa and work permits. One participant mentioned planning to sell their company before transitioning to the Elite Visa due to potential complications.

Currently leaning against the option (I go back and forth everyday) since I am worried that even in 1 years time the hurdle to entry will include a quarantine so better to just buy when I’m ready to endure that. Still a shame Immigration and work permit people could not have agreed the amnesty extended possibility of renewing work permits. Stuck in Phuket early June, I couldn’t leave because of airport closures and curfews, yet the work permit labor dept don’t care and just can’t renew the wp I’ve had since 2007 - nice job guys. Planning to sell or close company now.

There's another approval ("financial department") after the payment goes through. I think mine took 4-5 business days.

Well I just own my company here so just trying to sell it before Elite visa kicks in and they cancel visa and wp, in fact might not even matter

Yes any other visa you hold needs to be canceled. No working on a Thai elite visa.

it is always something! I have BBL too, but hope a credit card would work, no problem for limit but since I guess it isn't a "swipe" it might be different. Thanks for the heads up!

I couldn't. Typically there are daily and monthly limits on credit cards. What I found out was that

1. I could only transfer ~100k baht pr day from Denmark to Thailand. And

2. Once I had the funds in Bangkok Bank they were being a bit bitchy about the inside-country transfer. Main problem was they wanted the "juristic number" of Thai Elite. Sort of company registration/id/some such. Not easy to find. It's

I did it in April-May and it was pretty much 6 weeks. I could've perhaps done a week or so better, if it wasn't for my banks being a pain in the behind. I have also been lead to believe they process the thing faster now.

what was the problem with the bank? Can you just pay by credit card?
