Yes, the insurance quote sounds about normal. Just read the fine print on what actually is covered. Some are a bit sneaky with the wording.

, sealed route implies that you will not be entering Bangkok, and your luggage goes all the way to your final destination on its own. This means (most likely) not even going through immigration there. And I believe it also implies that you have your next boarding pass already. I don't specifically know the Thailand rules, but I know that in both Vancouver and Narita in November, we were escorted pretty much everywhere until we got to the departing gate area. Our luggage went to the final destination.

If you can change your flight route, I would look into that. But definitely try to keep to the same airline if you have checked luggage. That will help a lot.

, yes, I remember that happening for the previous version of test and go when I applied. It is always something I have in the back of my head when filling out forms. You'd be surprised how often you come across it.

Yup, I have done that 2 times since October. The flight frequency may be once a week now though.

, my statement said that "The 2nd test scenario should change though. Just my 2 cents. "

I personally think they need to get rid of it. If you test positive on day 5, that is 99.9% local transmission as far as I am concerned. :)

I would expect that to be the norm for a while as well. I was always told that wearing the mask is a courtesy to others if you have a cough or sniffles. You would see several asians wearing them on long haul flights way before the pandemic. So this will be a BIG courtesy for a while.

I remember the first time my guide in Phnom Phen stopped and bought me one and said wear it because the road gets dusty. I had never worn one, and took a pic to show my friends, but was glad he had thought of it.

Only in your room until you get the result of the arrival (1st) test. Then you are free once you get the negative result.

Well, the west have basically said we give up. Let the chips fall where they may, and hope no more deadlier strains.

Many Asian countries are trying to not lose a single person to something they think they can get a handle on, or outlast, and also not have it be a strain on their various healthcare systems.

(Just trying to be philosophical here.)
