I confirm this does work. A friend of mine recently got sent to the "big boss" at Suvarnabhumi. Had all his papers in order for an ED Visa. IO did not allow him in but the "big boss" asked him a few questions and he was on his way.

Re-entry process was a breeze. Took about 15 min to get through their ( we were the first) and immigration.

Paid 1200 per person. Received a receipt for the 200 service charge.
