no, the extension is done in thailand, whenever you leave thailand you get a re entry permit cost 1000 baht so youcan re enter on your existing visa or extension. You will now start again in france for a new visa

Samesame me ..this years glitch was the addition of 2 (!) Photos inside the house ...koh phangan ... and the hold passport time is down from 7 days to 5 days 🙄

You may have issues opening a bank account, not easy these days on a short term visa

I just do it at suvarnabhumi if thats your departure, but many of the others have a desk open

How long do you have to report your residence after arriving in Thailand?

In theory within 24 hours, but there are no checks so any time seems ok. Major requirement is to have a valid one for any immigration office visits eg extensions etc
