To those who got their passport abroad, what did you type in "place of issue"? My passport doesn't have this field so I'm struggling because of the posts of several people who got their application cancelled because they filled in the country where the passport was issued. My passport has the voice "Authority". Should I type in what it's written there? I mailed the embassy which replied me "Fill in the form in full accordance with the information in your passport". Please only replies from those who have already applied in a situation similar to mine. Thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The issue of correctly stating the 'place of issue' on visa applications is raised by an Australian citizen seeking advice from others who have experienced similar situations. Community members respond with advice based on their own experiences, suggesting it may be appropriate to use either the home country or the issuing authority listed in the passport. Examples include filling in 'London' or 'HMPO' for UK passports or 'USA' for US passports, irrespective of where the passport was renewed. There are different opinions, and the consensus underscores checking the specific instructions provided by embassies or authorities.
