You gotta wonder about how many ‘mom n pop’ one room homestay on a cash basis landlords know about this rule...

But at least the 1 night hotel thing saves everyone involved...

I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but- If you live with your girlfriend/partner, and I’m assuming they are Thai, why aren’t you just listing your address as “their” place. In other words, why is it necessary to show that you pay rent? For example, what if you live with your girlfriend on her land and in her house? Does she need to file something with immigration that says, “Yes, he lives here for free!”?
