well done mate ! My wife recently navigated our highly complex marriage visa renewal process in Phuket (several steps very different from Bangkok) - there is no way on earth I could have managed this myself without help from from my very capable wife or an agent
not so easy when most contracts are in Thai - and the contract won’t tell you the sequence, and the extra pieces of paper required that aren’t on and documented list. Sound advice earlier: make some friends here and ask them
I renewed my marriage visa in Phuket last week. They asked us for a certificate to prove we are still married, so we had to take our original marriage certificate to the local town hall, queue for a mind numbing 4 hours and finally get the certificate.
Oh, and we had the bank statement & certificate from the day before but that wasn’t enough: they also required that the bank book had a transaction on the same date we submitted the application
I did the same - after a few drinks one evening I agreed to buy my father in law (a monk building a meditation retreat) a roof for his new home as the rainy season was approaching, and the balance dipped below the magic level for a few hours until I woke and connected my mistake.
My wife tried explaining this, including docs / pics to prove where the money went (hoping to guilt them) but no mercy was shown, had to start again…
