Entry back to Thailand is currently insurance, pass and a PCR 72 Hours prior. Could change depending on when you plan on returning. If transiting through Canada you are exempt from any requirements. These are from travel.gc.ca.

Transiting passengers who are only flying through Canada to reach another country

For requirements, see Transit to another country by air.

Exempt from pre-entry test

Exempt from arrival test

Exempt from Day-8 test

Exempt from quarantine

Transit to another country by air

You may be permitted to transit through Canada to reach another country. You must make your travel arrangements well in advance if you are transiting through Canada.

While travelling

You must follow all flight requirements and comply with any guidelines provided by the Airport Authority.

Boarding flights to and within Canada

During your connection at the Canadian airport

You must remain in the secure transit area to complete your connection. This means that you won’t be allowed to collect your baggage, or check-in for your next flight anywhere but at your scheduled gate of departure.

You’re exempt from testing and quarantine requirements, as long as you remain in the secure transit area to complete your connection within 24 hours.

If you want to leave the secure transit area due to a flight cancellation or delay, you must be eligible to enter Canada.

What about "trailing spouse"? We got our Non O's outside of Thailand and applied for the year extension before the 90 days was up. My husband provided the proof of income, had our marriage certificate verified and I was stamped for a year as a trailing spouse... no income verification needed from me. I don't know if that works with the 800,000THB as we did income verification at our embassy, still allowed with Canada. Worth looking into...

When we did our extension, December 2021, we did the hand drawn map... Chiang Mai didn't want it, gave it back. A friend went a few days later, they wanted the map, hand drawn.

for us it took almost 10 days but that was because we applied just as they were transitioning to the new EVisa system. Usually should be 3-7.

we were asked for a copy of our original entry e-visa when we did the extension in Chiang Mai. Could vary by office.

we are in exactly the same situation. We still file Canadian taxes on our earnings and dividends so it worked showing the summary page. Sorry can't remember the exact form.

Personally, I'd email the consulate and ask if your investment portfolio statement would work so you don't get a surprise when you get there.

we had to provide the following "Please bring your original passport, any document or statement showing your income or an income tax statement, and the notary service fee of THB 1,250 in cash only”. The bank we use doesn't issue letters so used an income tax statement printed from the CRA website but had bank statements as back up.

It is a strange email but it's the one I used in November. You can also use this one

The Canadian Consulate in Chiang Mai told us the letter was valid for 6 months. They also told us since they weren't busy to come about a week before we planned on using it. We made an appointment about a week before we planned on going. It only took about 30 minutes and most of that was spent at the coffee shop while they did the letter. Edit - they are quick to respond to emails and questions so you can ask them at

all my Thai friends said it's a spider bite. It should go away after a few weeks once the blister pops.
