What documents do I need to apply for a trailing spouse extension in Thailand after entering on a Non-O visa based on retirement?

Chiang Mai - both entered on Non O - 90 days based on retirement over 50. We are heading to the Canadian Consulate on Monday for income verification then going to immigration. Husband is applying for extension based on retirement over 50. I am going to be applying as a "trailing spouse". Not 100% clear on the terminology, if this would also be considered a retirement "extension". We know what documents he needs but aren't sure what I need to bring? I believe we can apply at the same time so would have the relevant documents for his extension.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses visa applications in Thailand, specifically regarding a Non-O visa based on retirement for a couple in Chiang Mai. The husband is applying for an extension related to retirement, while the wife is seeking a trailing spouse extension. They are unsure about the necessary documentation, particularly if the wife's application will also be considered a retirement extension. Comments suggest checking the eVisa for notations and preparing required documents, including potential certification from the Canadian Embassy.

Take your paper they emailed you for the evisa so that the immigration office can see it

Depending on of there are any notations on the evisa or not you may or may not be able to have your wife get a trailing spouse extension.

IF there is no notation on her evisa paper (meaning that it doesn't say "retirement" anywhere) she could probably do it, although they will most likely make you have the marriage certificate certified by the Canadian Embassy up there or something like that.

NOW if on the oft chance that your wifes eVisa paper DOES say retirement that means she's most likeliy not gonna get a trailing spouse extension and she'll need the notarized document from the canadian consulate showing at least 65K baht a month income too and get her own stand alone retirement extension.

DID you already both go to the immigration office and get the hand out listing the requirements needed OR talk to the officers (NOT the wingnut foreign volunteers outside) about what is required to get the trailing spouse extension up there that matches your retirement extension?

when we applied we were told there was no trailing spouse, from the Vancouver consulate. I've checked both our E-Visa papers and it just says Non Immigrant O, no mention of retirement on either.

We went to immigration last week, it was so lined up we couldn't even get to the volunteers, so didn't get a chance to speak to anyone. There were retirement visa requirements infographics by the forms so we have photos of those.

Monday morning we go to the CAD consulate so will bring our marriage certificate and see if we can get it certified.

We also got an appointment (can do online now) for Monday afternoon, so we will see an officer then. We'd like to have as much of the paperwork completed and weren't sure what I'd need. Don't want to annoy the immigration officer.

Sounds like you have your ducks in a row then (y) Yeah with the covid extension program going on AND people thinking it was going to run out Friday this last week or so at immigrations has been bad.

Good luck with it, make sure you take those eVisa emails and ask the canadian consulate when you're there for the income abroad notary.

It sure sounds like you've done everything you can to make sure you two can pull it off (y)

Report back if you can,

Check your passports. Did both of you enter on a Non-O visa based on retirement, or did one of you enter on a Non-O visa based on being a trailing spouse?

both stamps state visa non O. The E-Visa site didn't have an option for "trailing spouse" so we both got a single entry Non O based on retirement

That's a little concerning to me that you are both stamped in on Non-O Visas based on Retirement.
