Haha... true that. They came and picked up a guy who overstayed his visa at my Condo building here in CM (deported). They're definitely more on the ball with TM30 and visa details in the DB, it can easily tell them you're past your visa and where to find you.

P.S. having a visa is not a guarantee you'll be permitted into the country. When you enter Thailand again ensure you have proof of accommodation, onward flight, and 20,000 baht (or equivalent foreign currency) on you. No, a bank card, statement or credit card won't cut it. We've seen several reports of people being denied entry because they didn't have these with them.

Good luck.

Go to Vientiane Laos. Easiest/friendliest consulate in the region. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay US $43 for the visa for Laos (bring US cash or face horrible exchange rates).

Robert is right on the money... still a very easy, laid back border to do a bounce at. Have a safe trip!

You will have to cancel the extension of stay. Get your current employer to provide a letter of your work termination and your final date of employment. Take that to immigration to cancel your extension. The date on the letter will be the date you have to leave the country. If you go cancel it the same day as your work finishes, you have to leave that day. If you wanted to stay longer you could apply for another extension of stay (1900 baht) which will be denied but you will be given 7 days to leave.

David Broadfoot True and good point... the official requirement on a 30 day exempt entry is 10k, but I have heard of them asking to see 20k. There's no point in trying to argue with them so always best to have 20k. My original post was in response to Mayen stating you only need 10k.

10k for 30 day visa exempt entry. 20k for 60 day tourist visa entry.

To clarify, are TM30 or resident certificate questions allowed as they're not visa related? Thanks!

I appreciate the need to clarify forum rules but the tone of this post really leans towards "ThaiVisa". Seems to be the case on this forum lately. It used to be the only non judgemental place for newbies to post questions and not be berated or made to feel stupid. Sad to see this forum lowering its standards.

CM immigration is now located next to the airport.

Extension is added onto your existing 'admitted until' date. So 20th + 30 days.
