What documents do I need for a border run to Mae Sai, and will I need to show cash or a flight ticket?

Planning on going to the Mae Sai border soon for a border run. Driving there myself. What documents should I bring with me (do I need onward flight, bank statement, etc.)? Do I need to show 20k in cash at this border? Any additional information on what to expect would be great, haven't been to this border in 5 years.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to the Mae Sai border for a border run, it's generally reported that you do not need extensive documentation such as an onward flight or bank statement. Immigration will check your passport but primarily focuses on your ability to re-enter Thailand. Also, you will need to pay a fee of either $10 or 500 THB for a day pass to Myanmar. Overall, the Mae Sai border crossing remains easy and straightforward.

Robert is right on the money... still a very easy, laid back border to do a bounce at. Have a safe trip!

As far out of reports, no proofs are needed at Mae Sai border. Immigration checks your passport if you can re-enter before they stamp you out. You do need $ 10 or 500 Thb for the Myanmar day pass.
