@Lynnette ******
So what I got told: "Give both passports to the guy at the passport control Booth when you stamp out they will stamp you out on the new passport and make a note that you entered on the old one and then you use the new passport to enter Lao".

Laos provide VOA, not Visa exempt entry.

I think you misunderstood what I'm asking.

I'm not doing a border run.

I just want to leave Thailand from Nong Khai and enter Laos on VOA.

But I've read previous posts where people said that you have to transfer visa exempt extension first to new passport before crossing. But a good source told me this was not true at all. To just show both passports upon leaving.

Bangkok Bank got slapped by China in the transfer scam scandal.

There is nothing else to analyze.

Bangkok Bank caved in to external pressure.

Why are some people still not getting it?

So you had the proof of funds. You could have gotten the visa for 2k baht. I thought you didn't have the 400k in bank, but you did.

So, you crossed Laos with her, paid 1.5k baht or wtv to get the Laos visa on arrival. Stayed at hotel for 3 days in Laos (until visa was ready). Then you all went back into Thailand by that same border. with your 90 days stamp in your passport? So she's basically a fixer, but I didn't know they were still operating. When did you pay her the 9k baht? And what was included in the 9k baht? (the visa, with or without transportation, hotel, etc).

Yes, but you were able to obtain a 90 Days Non-O without proof of funds in Vientiane, which is a miracle. I'm very interested in that part. Because what you paid is a lot less then what agents charge in Thailand for the same service (without you leaving the country). I will call Susada tomorrow to see if I'm eligible. I'm 39 years old married to a Thai. I don't have the 400k, but if I get the 90 days, I know how to use an agent in Thailand to get the extra 1 year.

You paid 9k baht excluding hotels, transports, etc?

You flew back in from Vientiane to Bangkok after receiving Non-O or crossed the border?

Was this for a 90 days Non-O based on marriage?

So you went to Laos knowing that it would not work, but found a fixer at the border? I thought such practices were extinct.

She took your info on the Thai side, checked if she can do the visa for you at the Thai consulate in Laos. Got the okay, then you guys went to Laos. On the Laos side, you gave her your passport, marriage certificate, etc, all the documents, then 3 days later she gave you your passport back at said hotel with the 90 days Non-O based on marriage in it?
