This is 3rd rejection I have seen in Chiang Mai where the bank was not Thai. Seems a pattern is emerging at this office.

Chiang Mai seems to want to see a Thai Bank. I was even told by one agent it must be a Thai Bank in Chiang Mai for my extension. My bank accounts in Bangkok and Pattaya would need the agent authorised to get the required documents FFS

One once scrutinised my passport that has 2 year BOI Visa - she told me I have to renew it in 6 months lol

Anonymous participant Requirements can change from embassy to embassy. The local guys in charge have discretion. The local Ambassador/Consular Head will make the decisions. The MFA set the minimum guidelines then local discretion.

Anonymous participant Very strict. Not seen it before. The whole point of SP was to encourage people to come for Thai Soft Power activities. Professional cookery courses would probably be on ED visa

Anonymous participant You might want to contact an agent who has contacts that can check the system. Some Embassies put a note against rejections. Not a and probably very few but it might be worth a check. A well connected agent can check this.
