I was wondering how much the new immigration law affects DTV visa holders.

Is there anything we should be aware of, and if so, when should we proceed?

If this topic has already been discussed, please feel free to point me to the relevant post.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks clarification on the impact of a rumored new immigration law on DTV visa holders. Many commenters point out there is no new law and express frustration over the confusion regarding the 90-day reporting requirement, which applies to all foreigners in Thailand, not specifically to DTV holders. The original poster also shares their past experiences with the 90-day report and expresses concerns about future travel in and out of Thailand.

There is no new immigration law. I think everybody’s answer your question a few times.

. I realize my original post wasn’t very clear — sorry about that.

Just to clarify two things:

1. The 90-day report: I missed it simply because I had never heard about it. Got fined, lesson learned, all sorted now.

2. The TDAC : I don’t recall filling out any paper arrival card when I entered the country.

Now I’m just a bit confused about what I need to do to make sure I can leave Thailand and come back smoothly without any issues.

If anyone has advice or information about this, I’d really appreciate it — especially since I’m on a 5-year DTV visa with multiple entries.

Thanks again, and sorry for the confusion earlier!

The paper card was discontinued (airports) for several years. They reintroduced it electronically, several weeks ago. It is an arrival card, so only filled for people currently entering the country. Since you are already in the county, you do not need to fill it out. However, you will do so, when you enter again.

TDAC only started in May 1st - if you entered before that then you will not have one and it effects nothing regarding leaving. When you come back you need to complete one up to 72 hours before arrival.

You can just leave the departure details blank if you do not have a specific date you will be leaving. This fields are not mandatory.

TDAC.

Some say it's on arrival, some others say it can be done before leaving Thailand..

TDAC is the same as the old paper-based arrival card. All foreigners entering Thailand must complete it, within 3 days of arrival, including DTV holders. It has nothing to do with “re”-entry.

When do the immigration says anything about the 90 days report?!??

Never read anything about it while applying for my DTV!!!

@Maryan ********
Not a new law. You did not apply for your DTV with the Immigration Department. You applied to the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Take it up with them :-)

It's been a requirement for almost every foreigner staying in Thailand for as long as I can remember. It has got nothing to do with the DTV visa...
John *******
@Maryan ********
90 day reporting has nothing to do with DTV. All foreigners in Thailand (a few exceptions) must report every 90 days.

@John ******
yes but it is correct that they never mentioned that you have to do it. So unless you come here and ask somebody or you’ve been here before you wouldn’t really know.
