TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking guidance after their husband was rejected for a DTV Muay Thai visa application submitted in Jakarta. Comments suggest that the rejection may be due to the duration of the Muay Thai course he applied for, which was only one month, while applicants are generally advised to have a minimum of six months of training. Others recommend checking the application criteria, contacting the embassy for reasons, or applying through a recognized Muay Thai school with a successful track record. There's also talk about possibly using an agent for assistance in future applications.

Hello, I applied the 18th and I’m still waiting for news. Also took a 1 month course (Tiger eye) because the owner told me it should be enough. Hope that’s not the reason behind it. Will update once I recieve news

Participante anónimo 511 There are a lot of people that got approved here in Jakarta with just 1 month so it’s not an issue if they haven’t made changes

If simply rejected (and not asked for further info) he did not meet the published criteria or made an admin mistake in the application form. Do check the criteria on the relevant embassy’s website and check the application form.

A mistake in the application form would have led to a cancellation of the application, I believe, not a rejection.

Look at old post I think Jakarta is a bit harder. I did Taiwan no problem.

I think Taiwan insists on regular and ongoing income, even for Muay Thai applicants. Whilst it may not be an issue for some applicants, it certainly is for others.

Did you use one of the Muai Thai schools that has been successful in getting visas in the past?

is always better to use an agent for help about process. My friend was rejecting and was accept and second time when he ask with an agent. DTV is not easy to obtain. I can recommend Visathailand.com really good agent. Some of my friend do with this agent before and everyone succesfull

The overwhelming majority of DTV holders did NOT need nor use an agent.

just curious, did you have access to any stats showing what percentage of DTV users actually went for an agent? Any public information? I'm wondering as well.

Mist posts here indicate self service. In the first few months 12k DTVs issued and agents had not jumped on the bandwagon by then. What value do agents really offer apart from QA checks of submissions? Do the dodgy ones have contacts in Embassies? I know an agent and she recently asked me about offering DTV services. I said possible but QA checks on submissions, go between with soft power providers and add on services like property/concierge services was all I could think of. She has good contacts at immigration but they do not issue the visa
