Most places immigration issues the residence certificate but in Ubon it's the tourist police over in Warin for some reason

Don't know where you're from but if American and you're just looking for the visa, not extension of stay, when you apply in the USA you only need to show a bank balance of $700

Sorry, to clarify, no police check required for non o visa (marriage), it is required for non o-a (retirement)

very laid back immigration apparently a lot of other offices enforce by the letter of the law!

good to know, I suppose I should be more prompt in future. They've known me and my wife in this particular office for close to 10 years so possible we're getting a bit of special treatment but that could change any time with a new boss, staff etc.

Wow in Ubon you could show up and do the tm30 next month and they wouldn't care, way more laid back over here!

Is it okay to do multiple border runs at the same port with a Non-Immigrant Type O visa in Thailand?

No problem with multiple border bounces at the same location with a multiple entry non-o, only an issue for some with tourist visas or no visa at all
