I landed on Friday night, therefore I will not get the chance to submit TM30 until Monday due to Jomtien immigration being closed at the weekend. Is it acceptable to submit on Monday and am I likely to occur any penalty?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the acceptability and potential penalties for submitting the TM30 form on Monday after arriving on Friday night, given that the immigration office was closed for the weekend. Comments indicate that submitting the form the day after arrival when the office was closed is generally acceptable with minimal penalties, and experiences vary based on location in Thailand.

I flew in on the 6th and dropped it off on the 10th and she stapled a confirmation in my passport and gave me a big smile and said "thank you". It's always the same woman....

I must have good timing too, last time I went there around 2 and was out in 15-20 minutes

very laid back immigration apparently a lot of other offices enforce by the letter of the law!

Went to immigration this morning 10.00am and got told to come back tomorrow as too much people today, looks like this could become a pain in the arse every time I arrive.

sure hope you're not gonna be fined tomorrow when you show back up :O

Wow in Ubon you could show up and do the tm30 next month and they wouldn't care, way more laid back over here!

good to know, I suppose I should be more prompt in future. They've known me and my wife in this particular office for close to 10 years so possible we're getting a bit of special treatment but that could change any time with a new boss, staff etc.

consider yourself lucky. Many MANY immigration offices are now enforcing the rule by the letter of the law and fining people 1600baht for failure to file a TM.30 within 24 hours :(

I did TM30 three times, and each time is a bit different.

My first time was two years ago. I was three months late. Not days, not weeks, but months with a capital "M." I was fined for an amount. Not a big one. I was late because I didn't know I have to do TM30.

The second time around, I was much better. Going there in required time. Right then, I was told that the landlord was not required to appear if address is the same.

The third time was a bit odd. I came back late October, before the King's funeral. My superior told me to wait, both because of the work I have to do to catchup and the funeral. I was almost a month late but was not fined.

My experience with Thai immigration has been wonderful. If I show willingness to comply, the officers are willing to help. Having a superior who has experience in public sector also help.

Thanks Tod, thought as much but worth checking if anyone has had a similar experience.

You'll be fine going the next day they're open because the immigration office was closed on the date you arrived.
