Don't need money in your bank account to get a work permit.

500 000 is for the elite visa. I think.

I am Sout African , been here almost 5y. Working visa.

Yes. When I started teaching in Thailand. I needed a TOEIC. 4 years ago.

Another 2 Saffers whom I know of, recently started and are about to get work permits without having to go for the TOEIC.

This has been amended. Thailand now accepts SA as a native English speaking country, even though English is 4th on the list of languages spoken in SA.
