Can I apply for the "800,000 baht in a bank visa" while I am here in Thailand and eliminate the health insurance requirement?

Dear all, I have a question regarding long stay (retirement) visa and the dependent visa.

If for someone with an elite visa wishing to apply the non O long stay (retirement) inside Thailand, he has already transferred 800,000 baht to thai bank account, and with other documents ready, could he get a 1-year long stay (retirement)? or does he still need to get the 90 days first then when approaching the expiry of that 90 days, he goes get the 1 year extension?

And on top of that, when can his wife apply the dependent visa (apply from her home country or a nearby country of Thailand)? Is it upon her husband gets the 90 stay or the 1 year ?

Thank you all!

Hi there,

went to Jomtien immigration today to ask for a new 60 days. I got a 'under consideration' stamp and have to come back the 29th of December.

Questions:

-Can I go 1-2 days earlier?

-Is it (almost) sure I get the 60 days?

-Do I have to fill in all the papers again and bring all the same copies I brought today incl photo?

Btw. it took me around 60-70 minutes and service is nice here in Jomtien.

Thank you :)

I'm from South Africa, I am in Thailand with my family (husband and son) , They are both South African too. When we were in South Africa, I went to the Thai embassy and they advised a Non Immigrant B Visa for myself and O Visa for my Husband and son. They also advised that I need 40 000 baht for my whole family in my bank account. Since I arrived here the school said to me the amount is not 40 000 it is 500 000! How can this be , it seems almost very impossible that someone applying for a teachers job, to make money, will have that in the account in their account. Plus the documents fro, the athai Embassy in South Africa states 40 000 , so how can it change in Thailand . Please help
