in day to day life yes definitely. As a teacher some (not all) are ageist. Just something to be aware of. Hopefully won't be an issue.

As far as I'm aware you can't get a permanent residency. You will need a work permit for any form of teaching. Most schools will only give you this if you have a degree. Be aware that some schools are also very ageist. Good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for in Thailand 😊

massive fines, deportation...same as working on a tourist visa. No work permit no working.

Inmigration is closed at weekend so providing he goes tomorrow he should be fine to extend. I think I'm right in saying if the stamp is a weekend you are ok to go on the Monday

Yes. Go to Immigration with passport photo and 1900 baht. Fill in a form and your all set

Turn up early! Then you can be front of the queue and out quickly. I was number 13 and was out in an hour

Not all banks accept but I think Bangkok bank do.

You can also use an agency but they charge.
