TLDR : Answer Summary
A Non-B visa holder can obtain a Re-Entry permit without needing a work permit. To get the Re-Entry stamp, you must visit the Immigration office with a passport photo and pay a fee of 1900 baht. This will allow you to return to Thailand without losing your current visa status.
Thanks, you need a re-entry permit, on return to Thailand you will get the same Admitted to Stay date as stamped now in your passport. Please check the stamps directly to make sure it is done correctly.
a Work Permit permits you to work and has nothing to do with Visa rules. What kind of Non Immigrant B do you have, Single Entry valid for 3 months or Multiple Entry valid for 1 year.
