I'm married to a Thai woman.

I worked overseas and had a largish tool chest. Tool control in aviation took over and we were not allowed to use our own tools anymore so I shipped them home to Thailand.

All of the tools were 20+ years old.

I informed work there would be a heavy tax but they said ship them anyway and they'd pay all costs.

I did warn them.

Shipping was $3,000

And tax was $3,000++

For 6k I could have bought everything new.

Sell your tools and buy new, it's cheaper.

And yes you can but my top quality power tools here.

I believe its not worth the effort just get a new one. That's what I've been doing for 10+ years.

Get there early, queues can be long. Be there by 7.30am and be out by 8.30. Get there 8.30 and be prepared to stand all morning in a queue of 150+

@John *******
you are not using two passports as the old one is cancelled. You just carry the old one to show the visa. Its not wrong I've done it in Thailand as advised by immigration there.

As long as the visa is valid for the time you are travelling.

I will be doing exactly that in a couple of weeks.

Example, passport expires with 6 months of a year's visa still valid.

New passport issued.

Travel with both cancelled passport and new passport. Show both at immigration at entry, no problem.

No need to transfer a stamp all that's required is that you carry both passports with you. Been there done that.

I've been doing it on a regular basis every 4 weeks excepting covid shut down for 20 years no problem and still doing it.
