What’s the solution for booking RT airlines tickets to Thailand since you know you will not be using the return ticket?

I’ll be using Visa Upon Arrival (thus RT tickets to show leaving Thailand), but will apply for retirement visa when arriving.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To book RT airline tickets to Thailand when you won't be using the return ticket, consider purchasing a single ticket with an onward "throwaway" flight to nearby countries like Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Websites like onward.flights can provide simulated onward tickets, though they are not real flights. Additionally, booking a cheap flight from a travel site like Priceline can also be effective, typically costing around $60-$90. It's important to understand the visa requirements and ensure compliance to avoid being denied entry, especially if the airline requires proof of onward travel.

Just correcting terminology. I believe you will be using a “visa exempt” entry rather that a “visa on arrival”. They are two different beasts with the latter allowing you 15 days and is not extendable.

To get the certificate of entry your embassy may insist on an return or onward ticket within 30 days, but even if it doesn’t your airline may deny you boarding if you don’t have one. Some people have managed to evade both and come in on a one way ticket, but it’s a crap shoot. Either get a changeable ticket or use an onward flight site as mentioned above.

If you're doing visa on arrival, you need a exiting flight. You can use the website mentioned above, but it's not a real fight. Or book cheap flight to Singapore for $60-$90 dollars

any travel site. I used Priceline and it was $91. I think Singapore is the cheapest place you can fly, but also check prices on Malaysia too.

I think only the airline is worried about that, book a cheap ticket out of Thailand Cambodia or somewhere

Book a single and an onward throwaway single to Singapore or KL.
