is that the law or what an agent you paid 40,000 baht told you? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just returned after being away for 6 months but, I didn’t hear anything about that and I do keep up with Thai news.

at this stage, he has nothing to lose. He should go in and charm the hell out of whoever his immigration officer is. Make them like you before they even start looking at the bank book and they will be more inclined to overlook the discrepancy.
