TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has created their Thailand Pass details and received a QR code, but is concerned about booking a hotel that costs only 25 euros per night, while interactions suggest that this might not meet the necessary requirements. Comments indicate that if flying into Bangkok, booking must include a COVID-19 test and proper transportation, which the user’s current hotel booking may not cover, potentially leading to issues upon arrival.

If in Bangkok, the hotel must pay the hospital partner about 2200 baht for your test, and pay the SHA Plus transfer company taking you to the hotel. That's why you can't find any qualifying test and go package for under about 3500 baht. Your booking cannot possibly include the test and transfer and doesn't qualify. Your Thailand Pass was approved by mistake. The airline shouldn't let you board and if they do, you will be stopped in Bangkok and forced to book the qualifying package which can cause big delays to coordinate it with your hotel.

Sounds like you didn’t book the test and go package, including airport transfer and test. Look at your hotel confirmation, it should tell you exactly what you booked. Your hotel should also have contacted you for details of your insurance and flight booking, so they know when to pick you up. You can find a cheaper SHA than 170 euros, maybe just rebook an SHA… lowest approx

euros.

Are you flying into Bangkok or Phuket?

It's possible if Phuket because you have to pay for your own Covid tests before you arrive and have to pay for your own SHA+ transportation to the hotel so you're actually just paying for the hotel room and a few meals.

But if you're flying into Bangkok you're required to get an SHA Extra+ booking which includes Covid test and transportation, and since the Covid test costs 2500₿, the price you got sounds like you don't have the correct package.

thanks a lot. Is there also a need to convert my vaccine certificate to Thailand in order to be able to go to restaurants etc?

Or maybe they change to allow soon rapid test only tested to come in

@Teemu *******
with omicron pretty doubtful they will move to rapid tests

What has happened to other passengers is at immigration it’s realized they don’t have the proper booking and will be forced to book a new test and go before they let you leave, and good luck getting a refund from your first hotel

Bangkok post did a good article on this

@Teemu *******
they're under a lot of pressure to approve the passes quickly so mistakes happen. But what you're required to have in Bangkok is SHA Extra+ package which was created after multiple people showed up with the wrong thing

Hi Brandon you sound aware of what to do before going to Phuket. Can you please advise how to book covid test and SHA transportation? Do you have a link or website where I can find all the information? Thanks

@Zineb ********
easiest transportation is to arrange with your hotel. Sometimes there are also SHA+ Taxis as the airport but I'd use the hotel for peace of mind

this is the website for the testing
