For the test and go hotel , I have mine booked for 1 night and the my other hotels on the following nights. After your results come back negative, are you free to stay in the hotel room until checkout the next day anyways ? I am arriving a bit early 9 AM to BKK airport, so likely they would come within the same day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Under the Test and Go program in Thailand, after receiving a negative COVID-19 test result, you are generally free to stay in your hotel room until checkout the next day. However, many hotels operate as quarantine hotels where they may not allow you to leave your room freely. You must check with your specific hotel for their policies. If you receive your test result before nighttime and choose to leave, make sure you have packed your belongings beforehand.

you can book a room as a family. All sharing the same surname

You can stay until checkout time and have all the meals included in the package. I chose to stay until 12pm next day. But got my negative result much earlier.

how did you book the test and transportation? did the hotel offer it to you?

In Bangkok you are required to get an SHA Extra+ package that includes testing and transportation.

In Phuket you book the tests yourself, the hotel cannot offer them to you. They can provide your transport though and booking that through your hotel is the best option.

hi when and were you flying from

You're free to stay the night you booked, but many hotels will not allow you to leave your room as they are basically setup as quarantine hotels and not come and go hotels. So if you decide to leave your room for any reason, then you're done at that hotel. So your option is to stay in the room until you're ready to go the next day, or leave with your stuff when you get your results.

from when I spoke to them the test and go is a slightly higher rate due to the covid test , so I had to book the test and go package for that night specifically than an additional 2 nights at a regular rate. I did get email confirmation and they offer u then to give them flight details if you want their transport as well. It is possible though maybe they can just charge an add on fee for the first night ? I would email them and see what they allow if you already booked

would it be safe to assume if the hotel says SHA+ but offers regular rooms and packages aside from test and go it’s not one of those like you describe ? Mine is the JW Marriott

We’ve booked 7 nights in JW Marriott through Agoda but we want the first night to be Test and Go then stay on. Assume I need confirmation from the hotel of the 1 night Test and Go but as we’re not going until 4th Feb they’ve asked me to wait for this until nearer the time as regs may change. Do you have a confirmation e mail from them as think we need that for Thai Pass? Thanks 😊

, I agree with Wayne. Book one night on its own, then book the others separate. I am headed to Phuket in a few weeks, and booked 3 nights. Since the first night has to be pre paid, they went ahead and charged the full 3 nights to my credit card. They DID ask first.

Oh, and they also included the Sha+ pickup from the airport.

Many thanks😊

I would book 1 night as test and go and book the other 6 separately. My hotel moved people as they were using the one floor separately for test and go people only so we couldn't stay in the same room. So many hotels have different rules hard to know what any will do on a set day. Good luck and enjoy.

If already booked you maybe can cancel and rebook ?

Thank you that’s very helpful👍

can never make assumptions right now. Best bet is to just reach out to the hotel as they may have different wings/floors dedicated to quarantine etc. They're the only ones who can really answer.

I left mine and had a great evening. And then went back and slept it off…

as I said many hotels, not all. Multiple reports here of people being told if they leave they can't return.

You have to book one night. If you get your result before night time, whether you stay the night is entirely up to you.

Once you get you negative result you are free to leave the room and hotel as i have read it
