Ok. Yeah 6 months of bank statements is required.

I’ve also been asked multiple times to provide a letter from my employer stating I was allowed to leave my job for and extended period of time

30 seems reasonable. The entire 6 months or more, not so much.

I’m wondering if moving towards online processing of visas has made things more difficult.

I’ve always done them in person and could give answers directly to the person asking them.

Maybe doing it online leads to more rigid by the books processing

I’ve always been asked that when getting ME tourist visas but never been asked to provide proof of accommodation for the entire 6 months or more.

Most I ever showed was booking for a month.

Maybe they’re being more picky. Perfect timing when they’re desperate for tourists, especially higher spending western ones

I know multiple agents in Patts that charge 700-900 over the cost of the extension to have you skip the queue (usually in and out in under 30 seconds) and includes the taxi ride to the office then back to your home.

Considering the taxi ride for me would be 240 baht, it’s really not much to avoid wasting half a morning in a sweaty queue.

And I’ve almost never seen the wait at jomtien be 20 minutes or less aside from some days during the worst of Covid.

You might get lucky on some random day if you show up right when they open but you might not.

I’d rather sleep in than save a few baht. Each to his own.

Maybe that’s what he did. He did say he tried to do that so they could get a property mortgage in her name but they refused her since she didn’t have some documents to show employment.

Maybe for auto loans they don’t check as much.

I’m not certain but his wife has no job/income/property.

I know he did put money down but it wasn’t massive as he’s paying like 13k a month for 5 years on a car that cost about 1m.

So guessing he put down about 200k.

Will have to get the details.
